Choose the delivery format first
Tinctures
Botanical extract liquids, often hydroalcoholic or glycerin-based.
Drops
A delivery format. Any liquid can be dropped; it says nothing about process.
Shots
A nominal single serving in a sealed container.
Syrups
Higher viscosity with a taste profile; filling and pumps must handle the thickness.
Liquid multivitamins
Many actives in one base; check ingredient compatibility and precipitation.
Bases
Aqueous, glycerin-water, hydroalcoholic or anhydrous oil. Solutions behave unlike suspensions or emulsions.
A liquid format does not mean faster absorption, a sublingual route or suitability for children.
Preservation questions to ask a liquid supplement manufacturer
- Which preservative system fits the formula's pH, water activity, solvent level and container? Water activity is not water percentage, and pH alone proves nothing.
- Sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate are examples a qualified formulator may consider; effective pH and permitted use must be validated per formula and market.
- Who chooses the preservative efficacy (challenge) test? USP <51> is one method where appropriate, not a universal legal rule. Routine end-product micro counts are not a substitute.
- How are the process, water system and sanitation validated? cGMP does not imply sterility.
- Does the label need refrigeration or after-opening storage? Droppers touching skin raise contamination risk.
"Natural", "alcohol-free" and "preservative-free" do not guarantee room-temperature safety.

#1 · Top pick for ecommerce liquid launches with a scale-up route
Peakfinity Labs
Why it ranks first: A brand can test a catalog liquid, move to private label, then commission a custom formula with the same company, which owns its production facility and runs a US client team. That continuity suits ecommerce sellers who expect to reorder and change formulas.
- Liquid page lists drops, shots, tinctures and syrups in water, glycerin or alcohol bases; dropper bottles, 2 oz shots, PET or glass.
- Mentions micro testing and accelerated stability monitoring of potency, micro, pH and organoleptic properties.
- Company-stated: operating since 1980, a 350,000 sq ft cGMP, FDA-registered facility, US team in Exton, PA, 1.2M+ units/day across operations and about six lines per dosage format.
- Lists cGMP, FDA Registered, Halal, ISO 17025 (lab competence), NSF, ISO 9001, USDA Organic and Kosher. FDA registration is not FDA approval.
- Custom formulation is a 4–8 week development stage. Net 30 to Net 60 for credit-approved buyers; 24/7 phone support. Cites Reclaime and Fleava as client examples, without published results.
Confirm before ordering: Which oral liquid SKUs are in stock and their remaining expiry; the preservative challenge protocol; real-time stability in the final pack; certificate scope per SKU; when the 4–6 week clock starts.
#2 · Liquid-specialist stock and custom minimums
Vitamix Labs
Why it made the list: It publishes separate stock and custom bottle minimums with a defined clock start, plus closure choices from droppers to sprayers.
- Nesconset, NY, since 2012. Droppers, shots, syrups and concentrates in 10 mL to 32 oz; PET, HDPE, glass or metal; dropper, pump, sprayer or flip-top. CoA per lot; stability, solubility and pH checks. Formulation happens before the production clock; a 24–48 hour quote is not lead time.
Confirm before ordering: Preservation and challenge plan, physical bottle and closure fit, and full test scope.

#3 · Pilot-size liquid batches and fulfilment coordination
Triton Nutra Group
Why it made the list: A 1,000-unit starting batch plus formulation, bottling and commerce fulfilment gives small brands one route from formula to shipped order.
- Chandler, AZ. Tinctures, syrups, shots, suspensions, emulsions and liquid vitamins in 1–32 oz; water and alcohol extraction. 100+ stock formulas across its whole program, not necessarily liquids. Mixing, filling, sealing, labeling, CoA and third-party verification.
Confirm before ordering: Certification scope, the test specification, and whether kickoff timing includes your label approval.

#4 · In-house botanical extracts and alcohol-free options
BioB Manufacturing
Why it made the list: It makes its own extracts and offers both alcohol-free and low-alcohol liquids, with minimums tied to fill size.
- Contract division of Bio-Botanica, extracting since 1972 in Hauppauge, NY. Tinctures, drops and multivitamin/mineral blends; QC lab for identity, assay and micro. Component availability often sets timing. Certifications are company-stated.
Confirm before ordering: Extract standardization, alcohol specification, preservative and challenge data, and lot CoA in your pack.

#5 · Multi-format formulation with a broad liquid fill range
Vitalpax
Why it made the list: R&D, filling and packaging sit under one roof across 1–32 oz fills, with glass, tincture and PCR bottle options.
- La Verkin, Utah. HPLC and FTIR lab; pilot, small and large batches. Dropper and closure combinations are set per project. MOQ figure from the capabilities page (vitalpax.com/capabilities).
Confirm before ordering: What the 5,000 counts, closure calibration, preservative and stability work, and the release test panel.

Liquid spec brief
Build a pack-math brief to send with quote requests. Defaults are illustrative, not a clinical dose, quote or validated pack. Nothing leaves your browser.
Packaging and stability checks
Glass or PET
Glass gives a strong barrier and light protection in amber, but breaks and ships heavier. PET is lighter; check permeation, interaction, light and heat with the actual resin and closure. Not every PCR resin suits food contact, and recyclability claims need their own support.
Closures and dosing
Test liners, seals, torque and leaks. Watch headspace for oxygen-sensitive actives. Pumps vary in delivered volume, priming, orientation and retained hold-up, so one press is not automatically one dose.
Taste and physical drift
Bitter botanicals need masking with acid, sweetener or flavor. Preservatives can change taste. Track color, viscosity, precipitation and emulsion separation across shelf life.
Stability and release
Run real-time and accelerated studies for potency, pH, appearance, taste, micro, viscosity, fill volume, container compatibility and dose delivery. Assess extractables or sorption where relevant. Each CoA should cover identity, potency and micro, plus heavy metals where appropriate.
Plan for separate minimums on tanks, closures, cartons, labels and ingredient buys. Structure/function claims need substantiation and regulatory review; FDA registration is not approval.
FAQ: private label and custom liquid supplements
What MOQ should I expect for private label vs custom liquid supplements?
In this list, published private label and custom minimums run from 1,000 to 5,000, counted in bottles, units or SKUs. Ready-to-ship stock can go lower where a SKU exists. Ask what the unit is and whether labels, cartons and closures carry their own minimums.
Does a safe pH make a liquid supplement safe?
No. Preservation depends on pH, water activity, solvent level, the preservative system and the container in use. A qualified lab should run preservative efficacy testing on the actual formula.
What is the difference between a tincture and liquid drops?
A tincture is a botanical extract liquid, often hydroalcoholic or glycerin-based. Drops describe how a liquid is delivered, not how it is made.
Is a preservative-free or alcohol-free liquid safe at room temperature?
Not by default. Those labels give no ambient-safety guarantee. The formula still needs a validated preservation approach and storage directions after opening.
Should I choose a dropper or a pump?
A graduated dropper doses by mL marking; drop size varies, so no fixed drops-per-mL rule applies. A pump needs priming and measured delivery. Either closure needs dose-delivery testing with your viscosity.
How long do lead times and stability testing take?
Published production clocks here run 3 to 16 weeks, each starting at a different point. Benchmark samples, challenge testing, packaging and real-time stability add time. Accelerated data alone cannot prove a shelf life.
